THE DESIGN OF SCALABLE WEB GIS MICROSERVICE FRAMEWORK FOR UNDERGRADUATE EDUCATION

Abstract. As an interdisciplinary integration of GIS theory and network technology, Web is great significance for the comprehensive development students’ capability. Therefore, this paper targets undergraduate education presents a novel approach to designing scalable microservices framework, which consists three essential components: using RESTful APIs, geographic data source provider PostGIS, mapping symbolization JavaScript. In practice, students are expected utilize Python, JavaScript programming languages develop microservice access data, perform browser. Furthermore, they encouraged adjust workload spatial analysis algorithms based on needs environment, implement different applications. Ultimately, by guiding use framework participate in aim improving their capability achieved. The experimental results show that through design practice relevant contents GIS, Software Development, Principle, Algorithm, GeoDatabase courses integrated. Students various forms, such as open experiments, innovation projects, professional competitions, enhance at level achieve favorable results.
